Hosting ICON and Secret Sundayz Downtown LA

Ones a upscale mixed crowd and the other is a turn up strip/club hybrid. The true definition of night and day. When your the MC at two events that have completely different types of music and crowds it can be a little tough. Icon is 50% top 40 and the rest Rap/Club Bangers with this being the case I cant go about it in  the usual "WOLF STARR" fashion. Do to the BPM's being through the roof when I'm used to talking over much slower tracks. I found the challenge exciting in those first few minutes of bass pounding tracks from LMFAO,Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris. Adapting is something I've grown good at so once I got the beat count down i dove in head first. I matched the energy of this earlier stated Mixed Crowd and pushed Birthdays,College Grads,Single Ladies among a few other chants that ultimately won me the admiration of the patrons and the Night!

SECRET SUNDAYZ.........is nothing like I've ever hosted before. One of thee most challenging events I've ever had the pleasure to MC. I mean its essentially a Club,Strip Club,Concert mixed into one hyper active ball!! Also its fucking massive on top of everything else (Approximately 60,000 sq ft)! The venue is a beast a fuckin titan most don't have the gull to slay....Well I'm not "MOST"! There about 45 adult entertainers there all working hard to get that car payment/light bill money. Two DJ an opener and a closer also another host who job is basically to call strippers to the stage. So as you can imagine there are alot of personalities in the building during "WOLF STARR" time. I go on at 12am and close with the last DJ until 3am. To put it bluntly In order to be effective i have to be everywhere at once during my set! At every table,on stage, behind the DJ booth everywhere! This my friends isn't easy in any way shape or form not even for an experienced MC like myself. Every stripper wants attention from you consistently and every VIP wants a shout out. Pressure isn't a strong enough word to describe the rushing I have to do to stay on top of everything. But I get the JOB DONE! I split my time evenly moving in an pattern checking on everyone for shout outs while simultaneously giving the dancers the attention they need from the mic to get the money flying.  At the end of the night im standing a sweaty mess TTH (Tired Tipsy Hungry) ready to go home and reflect on being better at my passion. This my friends is what hosting Secret Sundayz is like.
