THE MC

   The DJ drops the music and the crowed goes silent. Some turn and face the DJ booth with looks of confusion and question on there faces. The MC grabs the mic and steps forward into the crowd and asks "If its your mutha fuckin BIRTHDAY make some noise"!! The crowd screams and the club frenzies with loud shouts of there Zodiac! The MC with swagger and grace jumps apone the bar and further drives home the fact "Its your fuckin birthday and I got you"! At the end of it all this everyone has witnessed and felt the importance of a great MC. Some of those birthday people are going to swear by this person holding the mic and never forget how special they made them feel on there special day. To be honest with you guys........I LIVE FOR THESE MOMENTS. The moments when I can use my voice to touch the 100-1000 people im hosting for. The perks of it all are minuscule to me at this point i.e Women/Bottles because its the admiration of the people im addicted to. I've been a professional MC as in its my PROFESSION for almost 10 years. As a youth it was my first true love I can honestly say. I've been blessed to host parties in cites like Atlanta,LA,Houston,Phoenix, and so on. No light has been shed on doing what us MC do usually the DJ are the ones who get the "Glory". Though in some cases I haven't cared but lately I have to admit its been affecting me more than usual. With that being said I feel its my responsibility to bring more attention to just THAT art form in itself. The legends and our fore fathers Fat Man Scoop,Flava Flav,Lil John,DJ Cool just to name a few were AMAZING MC/Hypemen! Maybe its time for a documentary of some sort to explain to the world what goes into hyping a crowd? In any case the skill,patience,understanding,creativity and even foresight that makes a great MC is known by the ones who have been moved by us. I'm personally going to work my ass off to keep doing what I love......YOU CAN BET ON THAT.
